I love working on teams, but I can fall into the habit of feeling like I need to do things entirely myself. I just started a book all about teamwork. I'll write more in my blog once I'm done.

Andy, you give new meaning to the word, "trooper!" I played soccer and in high-school and the feeling I take away from that experience was the desire to go beyond my limits for my teammates and how if one member went down, the entire team was affected.

Celebrating amongst each other was always the best!

You brought back great memories, thanks.

This is a good reminder that there is no "I" in team. It's in the best interests of a team to support, guide and understand each other's strengths and weaknesses if they're to be successful. This is true not only in sports, but in others areas of life.

While there are some things that make more sense to do yourself, there are other instances where the power of many far outweigh the outcome of one. I think it is important understand the difference and make decisions accordingly.

Initially it always feels like it takes more time to work with a team because you need to get everyone up to speed on whatever the project is and deal with opposing views. Ultimately, most projects are better accomplished by teams because they can be accomplished more efficiently and the differing views end up being an asset for a more well rounded and accurate result. I remind myself often that the initial investment in teamwork is ultimately worth it!

Unless of course you have negative numbers, but I guess that's another lesson to be learned: There are exceptions to every rule.

How true though, Andy, that great things can happen when people collaborate and work together. We should always be remember and be conscious of that.

I sometimes feels that there's a little too much 'me' and not enough 'we' going around town these days, and I appreciate hearing your perspective Andy. I'd pick you for my team anytime!

Teamwork can't help but claim victory when each team member has their eye on the goal and the goal is the unison of the project. The goal is not to win, but rather to support, respect, and encourage one another's gifts and talents to the sum of victory. And therein, arrives the coach! "When the student is ready, the teacher will appear."
