I've been on Atkins for 2-3 years, with varying degrees of "strictness". It definitely works. The first 2 months I dropped 15lbs and 10% of my body fat. Once I loosened up, I began to eat whole grains and specific "good for you" carbs like sweet potatoes, and have still remain less than 10% body fat. Cholesterol is in the 130 - 150 range as well.
