Haha. That's what it's called? Hiving? I like the whole BYOW thing. I doesn't put all the cost on you and it's fun to see what people will bring.

Bring your own wine& beer? That would probably be like an indoor picnic. But theme parties are always fun.

I'm always looking for ways to save. I need to learn to "hive" and teach people around me to pitch in!

Lately I have noticed my social circle dwindling. Only for the simple fact that I'm strapped on cash and can't afford to go out and have fun. This is a great topic, hosting social gatherings at your house is always fun. Why not have a wine tasting night. Invite all your friends to bring a bottle of wine and play a game of catch phrase. The night will end you will get your buzz, have a lot of laughs, and probably re-think the next time you are invited to go "bar crawl".

Bridget, you're my hero. I mean this. I knew about these ides before watching this video. And, it is amazing how having small get togethers at your house will save you a bundle of money. That's usually what my husband and I do. Great tips, great video, and most of all.. great job!

All very good advice, which I wouldn't have even known about had I not watched this video. The idea of a cooking night definitely piqued my interest, especially since I have a few friends who take pride in what they can do in the kitchen. And after seeing this video, I'm going to go check out the blog entry and see what else I can do.
