Grocery prices are rising and sometimes, it doesn't look like there's an end in sight. But there are things you can do now to lessen the financial blow. If you follow the tips from PeopleJam member efolgate's blog post "5 Tips for Saving Money on Groceries," then you can develop great money-saving habits that can last a lifetime, no matter how much money you make.
In this episode:
Except for the little tangent about some green stamp thing (I'm sorry if i have no clue what your talking about), I got some really good information AND it wasn't boring to watch. However, I would probably not recommend this video. If I was giving advice about saving money on groceries then I would recommend the blogger that inspired the show. I figure, why not go directly to the source? Why watch a lady talk about some green coupon that she got when she was a child? BUT as a show, this is one of those episodes that should be at the top of the list for episodes "The Jam" has because it would help people get on the right direction for saving money.
Bridge has the five basics down pat, and I'm glad she mentioned all the websites where you can get coupons. I've been clipping coupons for years and if you match them up with sales and the stores that give double coupons, you can get quite the deal. I just wish she had given me tips on keeping my coupons organized. I can never seem to find the right coupon when I need it. (And sometimes I think it takes more time than it's worth to clip and categorize them.)
Great advice! This is my favorite episode. I admit that I was embarassed by using coupons at first too but you can save a lot of money. I think that the most important tip is about not going to the grocery store hungry! If you are hungry, you buy too much!
yet again another Great Episode! My boyfriend and I have recently started cutting coupons, and do shop locally. Eating organic all the time can be expensive, but hitting up a farmers market every week, or every other week even, we are able to stock up on staple fruits and vegetables that, like Bridget said can be used for many things. Soups are always a best bet. They are healthy, delicious, fun to make, and last a few days.
Everyone always gives me a hard time, because I use coupons. I'm like a money saving fool. It doesn't matter, if we have the money or not. I'm quick to go to every one of these sites that Bridget mentions, and they have worked wonders. Thanks for the wonderful advice yet again, Bridget. You're gorgeous!
Yup, coupons are the way to go this year, with the economy not showing much sign of getting better. More and more people will begin to use all those coupons that they had stored away.
Great tips...I do not like giving up healthy eating, but the tip on the local farmer's market was a great one for me. I got three times as much of most produce at a third the cost. Also being single, I noticed I would buy the big bags of salad but before I could eat the whole bag it would go bad and get thrown away. So, I discovered going to salad bar in store and getting smaller portion to my liking and have saved a ton of money by getting portions that fit my family size and eating habits.
mmm, i must say you sing, er, more like hum, "The Girl from Ipanema" so well ;)
Very good job Bridget. It was both flirty and cute. You always do a good job. The very beginning Bridget, clipping coupons is very sexy. LOL. That was funny. Take care.
Good show.
Crack cereal! Ha! Bridget's the best. Great tips.
