Dinner parties are a great way to bond with friends and meet new people. But if you're hosting one, they can get really expensive. Referring to lifestyle expert and PeopleJam member SallyHorchow's blog post "How to Host a Dinner Party on a Dime," Bridget McManus gives great tips how the throw the best party for the cheapest price!
In this episode:
I love the wine tasting idea. You can also put some brown paper bags around them and make it a blind tasting and be surprised when people like the cheapest one the most, lol.
I really like these vids that highlight how to save some cash, but have to wonder how much Bridget has to drink before filming. I like the idea of blind wine tasting - good way to try out a lot of different wines at one time. Thanks -
LOL so much from this
awesome as always and love you bridget
My house is always the one the neighbors are cursing at, because everyone is always over at my house. So there are a million cars around. I enjoy company, but it's so expensive. Some people can eat. This video was such a great help. Bridget comes through for me, once again. I love you, Bridget!
Oh my this is a mess! That said, all my gatherings with friends are potlucks! It works great and everyone has fun. Plus it saves you money and time from having to do it all yourself!
I love this show. OMG that was crazy and funny . GREAT ideas .thanks
She is crazy, but I love her! I can make more than toast, but this has some great ideas. Love to entertain, but don't have the moolah to do it right now- again, great ideas!
Bridget, you are crazy, but these are some awesome ideas! I love the ideas of the chili or the taco bar because they'd not only be inexpensive, they would be less time-consuming to make! More time to spend with your guests and less time slaving in the kitchen. My favorite idea is the wine tasting. People would have fun tasting different cheap bottles of wine to see if there is one that actually tastes good. I especially like monogloop's idea posted in the comments - the Iron Chef party. What an awesome idea! You could have an awesome party for practically nothing - I think I'll have to try this one!
Yay! This video inspires me to have a fabulous and frugul dinner party! I totally love the idea of having an ediable center piece! I love cooking! It's one of my most favorite activities and I could do it all day if circumstances would only allow. Needless to say this video is one of my favorites because it gets my creative juices cookin'!
Blind tasting is a good idea I don't like to be noticeable when I'm being cheap, I like people to guess.
I totally want to have a taco buffet party! I do like the idea of making one big meal for everyone, like chili! Oh and corn bread!
I agree with monogloop: the wine tasting idea is really cute! I also like the idea of having a taco bar while having some people over. You don't have to be too fancy to still be classy!
The "wine tasting" theme is actually a really creative idea, especially if you ask people to bring in some non-traditional wines (no one wants to do a wine tasting of Sutter Home alcohol).
The best party I ever hosted was an "Iron Chef" party - all of the guests got a secret ingredient in their invitation, and they were asked to bring a dish which used that secret ingredient. It was very cheap to host, but all of the people had fun!
That was incredably weird. Especally the shifting accents.
.......that wig needs to go......Bridget can stay though.
I LUV this show. How does the camera person not laughoutloud during the entire show. great job Bridget!
That was nutty. I loved it!
OMG Bridget, that was crazy, crazy nuts. Wow!!!!!!! Cool and fun stuff. Thanks so much. Good job. Till tomorrow, Ciao.
... oh well, that's me back on the lithium again!
