There's no debate any longer when it comes to the earth being in peril. But there are things you can do at home to ease the pain for mother earth. PeopleJam member pearlofafrika wrote a great blog titled "7 Completely No Brainer Ways to Go Green and Save Money." Not only will you be helping the environment but you'll also save money!
In this episode:
Good tips, thanks!
I'm happy to say that I've allready been doing most of them.
Great tips! Thanks bridget!!!
Great tips, but you forgot one that you'd approve of: Go vegetarian. Lots of greenhouse gases are emitted in the production of meat.
Great tips on helping the environment and saving money. I never thought about unplugging appliances that I am not currently using.
i've been making my own grocery bags out of recycled fabric, and have started carrying a water bottle that i can refill at home - love the vampire power thing. great tips!
Love this video. I'm a use advocate for using a clothesline. There is something so enjoyable about clothes fresh from the line. I also love using the library. I mean, there are thousands of free books right at the tips of your fingers, why not use them?
The intro could have used more work, but over all the tips are great. I agree that bottle water is a major no no, you can just add a purifier to your tap and refill washable water bottles. You can also buy better light bulbs, that ones my fave. I vote yes because I really liked it.
I'm all for the environment and saving money. I read the blog and it was very helpful. Now, Bridget made the blog, helpful and entertaining. I'm so glad to see that many people really are starting to change their lifestyles to be more green. It's quite encouraging.
These are great tips to get you started going green. The fun part is, you usually save money while going green, so the benefits are twofold. Another idea Bridget didn't mention was replacing all your light bulbs with more energy-efficient ones, or, when it's time to replace your appliances, buying energy star appliances. They may have a higher up-front cost, but the operating costs are much lower and they use much less energy. The clothesline idea was great - I may have to try that this summer. Another idea is to open your windows when it's nice outside. You don't need to run the heater or the air conditioner if it's between 65 and 80 outside, and your house will smell nice and fresh! Great ideas, fantastic video!
