I got this from investopedia.com, it describes what a bond is...

"Just as people need money, so do companies and governments. A company needs funds to expand into new markets, while governments need money for everything from infrastructure to social programs. The problem large organizations run into is that they typically need far more money than the average bank can provide. The solution is to raise money by issuing bonds (or other debt instruments) to a public market. Thousands of investors then each lend a portion of the capital needed. Really, a bond is nothing more than a loan for which you are the lender. The organization that sells a bond is known as the issuer. You can think of a bond as an IOU given by a borrower (the issuer) to a lender (the investor). " ...bla bla and so on.

I hope that helps...keep up the great work, you rock Bridget!

I watch some of Suze Orman's show on CNBC or CNN or whatever channel she's on. Maybe I'll check out the book.

And haha, I don't know what a bond is either. I barely passed the finance 101 class that was required in college.

I think Suze Orman is very smart. I'll check into this book.

Hate to say it, but this review did not really say anything about the book at all. It seemed like maybe you did not read it? Sorry!

I've listened to Suze Orman. I agree with most all of her ideas, but since we don't have much money, I can't get into her clues about investing. You have to have money to make money, they say, in a lot of ways. Nevertheless, Bridget, your presentation is awesome.

I read her book. It is a very practical and good book. I definitely would recommend it. I don't think this review was to inform, but try to have the watchers want to get and read that book. In whatever stage financially, Suze Orman does make sense and give good advices. By the way, Bridget, only you can make "The Road to Wealth" sexy. *bond*

The section in the book dealing with bonds was really helpful. You should give them a shot!

I don't know what a bond is either. But I do know that you are a nut. haha lol. I also love Suzy Orman.

Well.. you didn't tell us very much about the book! But I enjoyed this little video blurb anyway.

Good episode. There are so many of these kinds of books and sites out there. I don't think I'd buy the book, just because I know I can find a near clone of it online, but the advice is good I'm sure.

i've been interested in the book, can't say this was a completely in depth review... however, i appreciate the info given.

ooohhh... sexy time.

can't go wrong mixing in a little suze orman and economics in a video!

This isn't the most detailed book review I've ever heard. I anticipated going into a little bit of the substance besides what is in the table of contents, but I like Bridget so much that it's OK. I wouldn't recommend watching this video if you are looking to get any information about Suze's book, but if you like Bridget then this can help you get your fix.

I might check out this book, simply to find out what it's actually about besides making money. This blog wasn't too informative as to giving details about what's in the book, so I'd consider it more of a book introduction than a book review. I'd recommend just picking up the book and reading it for yourself.

I saw Susan Orman on Oprah about a few days after the recession started, I felt like I had to watch it, but I was also interested. I was thinking about getting her book, but I hate it when people put their faces on their own covers, it's like look at me I wrote this book!
