The Beijing Olympics have come and gone, but Michael Phelps hasn't! These days he's everywhere, with endorsements from Rosetta Stone to Speedo to Visa, and even a stint on "Saturday Night Live." But one "sweet" endorsement is causing controversy. Check out this episode to see what host Bridget McManus thinks about Michael's deal with a grrreat company.
In this episode:
I agree!...that's why i love classic coke and pffft the diet drinks...if there's no sugar, why bother ;p
P.S. i'm not overweight (5'3", 110 lbs) despite my sugar-laden diet, BUT i do pilates and bikram yoga.
Now that we got the "double jointed" stuff, I wonder when the unnecacary close-up will come along! :D
I love you Bridget.
i vote for closeups too. :) :)
I agree with this so hard. It's hilarious seeing someone who is ridiculous fit being sponsered by something that is almost entirely made out of sugar, but she's right. Everything has sugar, and there isn't a problem with this.
I think Phelps is following his heart. He was interviewed about this and said its his favorite cereal and that was why he accepted the sponsorship! If its his favorite then...he ate it! Lighten up people!
I really think Michael Phelps is a great athlete, maybe not the best, but one of the best for sure. I think after all he's done, he should be able to promote anything that he wants, as long as it doesn't hurt anyone. A little sugar never really hurt anyone (unless you're diabetic). I like Frosted Flakes and I don't think it's wrong for him to promote a cereal that he likes.
If Michael Phelps wants to endorse Frosted Flakes which is not necessarily an unhealthy cereal, then why not? Perhaps this was a cereal that he thinks of fondly when remembering his childhood and he wants to honor that memory...
I like the humor in this episode. I've said this a lot, but I like Bridget in this episode...her humor is sarcastic without being exaggerated.
That's the silliest thing I've ever heard. Poor guy can't even eat Frosted Flakes. The Wheaties thing is getting old.
Good video about an interesting topic. I think the endorsement is fine. Kids have been eating sugar since the beginning of earth. I agree 100% that inactivity is the main problem. I ate sugar growing up and I wasn't fat or unhealthy, and I believe that was because I was outdoors playing as often as possible.
