The Jam: Ep. 3: Pilates 101

Host Bridget McManus takes this episode out of the studio and visits her friend Rachelle Carson, who's married to Ed Begley, Jr., in her Studio City house for a one-on-one Pilates session. Rachelle gives Bridget a Pilates 101 tutorial and an opportunity to work the machine, which Bridget finds she's pretty good at.

Watching Bridget get a pilates tutorial is hilarious. This made me want to try pilates, amazingly enough. I really liked the explanation of what pilate is, since I've never really undersetood that.

Wow! That first scene was awesome! I wish I was that flexible! I just started pilates, and I love it. I've always done just floor pilates, and I didn't know that the springs were that necessary. I definitely would love to have a strong core, and look like those people with great abs. *drool*

I have always thought about doing Pilates but never saw the fun it could be until now. Thanks for showing it in a different light- a refreshing one. Guess I'll be looking for a class soon. Thanks for the video!

Thanks for the history on Pilates. I have a yoga/pilates workout video but the machine looks great.

While its not for me, I really enjoyed learning what it was and where it came from as I did not know anything about it. I thought it was a form of yoga, but its not. Thanks!

It totally figures that you can get a workout with the machines, which the average person cannot afford nor does the average gym have them. *sigh* But I do love my mat Pilates workout and I do have hardcore abs. Thanks for the video.

I always thought pilates and yoga were the same! Another lesson learned!

I have never really been into pilates because it has seemed hard to me. The machine that works the muscles that you didn't know were even there, is something that I know that I need right about now.

Great episode. I've always wanted to try pilates. I've done yoga, but pilates looks interesting. To me pilates looks a bit harder. I like a challenge, I'll have to sign up for some classes at my gym.

Nice video. I have done yoga on and off for years and I wouldn't mind trying pilates. It actually looks like a lot of fun to me. I would like to see more about it.
