I am glad I have nothing to sell. I have not been in People Jam for probably a year, having spent more time on FaceBook, where business, pleasure and family all come together. I am not sure if it is a function of my stated interests or of People Jam, but on my first time back, it feels like there are 50 million "coaches" or the like selling their workshop, product, system, book, what have you. It is kind of disheartening, to say the truth.
Not sure I can articulate why. I DO know it is not possible for me to imagine that everybody who claims to have these skills or be in this business can really be exceptional enough to help another hightly skilled or evolved person. It also seems like an industry that is EXTREMELY competitive and almost tries to feed off itself, no doubt unsuccessfully. If I am trying to sell you a workshop, a coaching session and my book (I do not have a book) I probably am not hanging out here to buy the same from you.
This is not meant to be cynical, primarily. It is meant to initiate dialogue. What the hell are we doing? I have one Friend on here, Alex Pattakos, who I KNOW is an EXTREMELY extraordinary person and coach--So Alex, this is not about you, for sure. I just wonder how we all came to believe that we are gurus and can make a living off that. I totally get WHY somebody would want to make a living doing that, I just believe very few are, and I wish I did not feel the way I do about this phenomenon. It does not feel good......
