I am a writer (find my blogs right here on PeopleJam!) and the creator of hiving.net, a social group in Los Angeles (and online at www.hiving.net), for which I plan inventive outings that promote connections and give to charities. I also co-authored (with my Dad, Roger Horchow) a book called The Art of Friendship: 70 Simple Rules for Making Meaningful Connections (St. Martin's Press, 2006). I thrive on good friends, hysterical laughter, delicious food, inspiring travel, making interesting connections, and maintaining a healthy curiosity about life.

But, just like Warren Buffett said of the stock market, I say of our social lives: this is no time to panic! If you have to, don’t go out as much. Spend less on entertainment.
