So, I'm a Certified Business, Leadership and Life Coach. But for nearly 35 years, in what seems like a previous life, I was an engineer, line supervisor, project and program manager at NASA. As one of my coaching clients likes to say, I built cool stuff and launched it into space. And then it was time for a change - I could feel it in my bones but couldn't see what was in store for me. I was fortunate enough to get coaching at NASA, which broadened my view of what was possible in my life. Talk about Shift Happens! The effect on me was so powerful that I retired from NASA and went back to school to become a coach, culminating in being certified by The Coaches Training Institute (CTI) as a Certified Professional Co-Active Coach. I think I came to coaching from the best possible place - being coached into the possibilities for the rest of my life. Now, as a professional coach, I partner with people who are ready to open the door to what's possible in their career and in their life.
I've partnered with my clients to improve leadership skills; achieve guilt-free balance between work and home; clarify values and purpose; go back to school to start a new career; clarify relationship issues; develop and implement retirement plans; find a job; and move up the career ladder. Many of my clients go on to, as one of my clients said, "impress themselves". I'm also a retirement coach with a strong commitment to unleashing the potential of the Baby Boomer generation. In addition to my individual clients, I conduct workshops (including men’s workshops, Action Learning, facilitated problem solving, and retirement workshops) and retreats for corporate, government and private organizations.
I'm a true lover of life, and long to experience as much of this amusement park as possible. This has led me to such endeavors as taking up ice hockey (playing, not watching) at the age of 40; kayaking at 50; snow tubing at 54; starting my own business at 56; going on a Vison Quest, starting a second business and teaching coaching at a local college at 59 (this has been a very busy year!) - well, you get the picture. I'm a published poet, writer and photographer. I'm a life-long Maryland resident, married 37 years (to the same wonderful woman), the father of a daughter and grandfather to a grandson and granddaughter (who was born on my birthday - now that's cool).
LIFE IS GOOD! VERY GOOD! JUST IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!
