About Me

Joseph J. Breunig 3rd was born on June 26, 1958 at the Dow Air Force Base Hospital in Bangor, Maine. Eventually, he and his family moved to Portland after the birth of 3 additional brothers. In 1976, he graduated from Deering High School in the top 10% of his class (while participating in the College Curriculum Program). That ensuing summer, he had his first job at the Westbrook Forestry Department, primarily removing tree trunks. After surviving the summer of manual labor, he enrolled at USM (or Pogo U. until the name change during 1978) as a math major. For a couple of years, Joe tutored students in mathematics and introductory Computer Science classes.

During the summer of 1981, Joe landed an entry-level programming job with Keane (a software consulting company). For the next ten years, he developed software at the New England businesses of Unum, Bath Iron Works, Liberty Mutual, Chubb, AIG and GTE Slyvania. After a brief employment period with BIW, Joe became an independent computer consultant. His travels took him to Coca-Cola, M&M/Mars and Caldor. Upon the closure of Caldor, Joe joined Nine West as an employee of their MIS department. After four years, the department was outsourced into the joint-venture of HCL Jones Techologies. For two years, he worked in the IT department at C&S Wholesale Grocers. Presently, he ia back at BIW.

In November 2006, Joe self-published his first book of Christian poetry. Four more unpublished manuscripts of poetry have been written, but require additional funding.

In September of 1986, Joe married his wife Joyce. She also is a Maine native, having attended schools in Biddeford. Presently, they are living in New England, USA.

  • Poem: His Blessings

His blessings upon my life flow -No matter where I amor wherever I happen to go. Overcoming the curse of Mankind,is a consuming, infinite Lovefrom the One declared divine. As I continue inside His Will, sheltered by Sacrificial grace,His many promises are fulfilled. Truly blessed, to be a blessingis simple for anyone to see -As I’m fully submerged… in God’s covering. • Poem: Moments of Clarity

Oh, how I desire moreof Your Light’s essence,to clearly penetratethe core of my being. How much can I endurewithout Your Presence?Though I may be frustrated,it’s You Lord, I’m believing. It’s been said before,in Your Word’s eloquence -“nothing new” has been statedand it agrees with what I’m seeing. Moments of clarity, at the doorof Your Kingdom’s brilliance, are revelations of my faith’s fate, found under Your grace and loving… kindness.
  • Poem: Silent Words Are Useless

I’ve got my opinions as any other;Hopefully, I’ll be clear and you’ll understandthat our silent words are useless –For the trees will willingly clap their hands. The one true God spoke into existencethe birds, fishes, plants, mammals, Earth and all forms of life including...Humble beginnings of Mankind's birth. The sound of our individual voicesis something that God covets and enjoys; He wants our unadulterated praise verbalized
  • Poem: Nothing Gold Can Stay

Standing at the thresholdof Death’s ultimate door,my last gasp escapes me…As I’ve never experienced before. Into the Heavenly realmI ascend in wonderment, now housed in an incorruptible bodyand thankful that from sin I did repent. Standing in God’s throne roomfreed of all Earthly flesh,my spiritual essence is energizedand feeling fully refreshed. Now gathered unto my Savior, unencumbered reality is more than it seems;for to be in His Presence
