About Me

fengshuifromtheheart.com

I was born in Kiev, a city in the former Soviet Union.
When I was 4 1/2 my parents decided to immigrate to America. It was made very clear early on that we came here so that I could flourish.
At the age of seven, as my parents watched while I disembodied my Barbie dolls, they let me know that one day I was going to be a doctor. In retrospect I think it would have been more accurate to say that I was channeling Naomi Wolf’s concepts from the "Beauty Myth" way before she even wrote them.

When I turned 13, I started smoking, was sent to a private catholic school for girls and told I would be an attorney.
By age 17, I had accrued 200 community service hours for "misconduct." On the list was the accusation that I was being a bad example by turning the girls on to “self help” types of concepts which would "turn them all into deviants."
At that point my parents were sure I would marry either a doctor or a lawyer.
I’m sure that never in their wildest dreams could they have imagined that their daughter would end up working in a job that they couldn’t pronounce.

Feng Shui, pronounced, "F-u-n-g S-h-w-a-y," by most Americans, and pronounced, "Fuk Shoe-Yay" (by my father) is the service that I bring forward into this world to assist people in consciously creating their realities and manifesting their dreams.
What is it?

Feng Shui is a way of using your environment to support and shape your reality. It’s a way of programming your space for success. Just like our thoughts and feelings send out energy or a vibe about us into our world and determine to a great degree our quality of life, well so do our homes! Traditionally, it’s known as wind & water, the art of mindfully arranging your environment to increase the flow of life force energy aka, “CHI.”

Today, I am on my 6th year working as a Feng Shui Coach with my MA in Spiritual Psychology from the University of Santa Monica. I studied BTB Feng Shui under the tutelage of Master Elnathan Batoon and Master Lin Yun. BTB is a Hybrid of Tibetan, Chinese & Hunna principles coupled with spiritual psychology and spacial design. It flows well with modern times and is compatible with almost any other healing modality.

After six years of relentlessly pursuing my passion and refusing to listen to my Eastern Europe Jewish family telling me in their thick Russian accents that “spirituality is for people that don’t want to work”, and that they would rather I be “smart then spiritual,” they have finally come to terms with my chosen profession.

Maybe after years of me slipping a little Feng SHui in their diets, they now can’t seem to live without my cures and remedies to their every day ailments. “Your mother’s feet hurt. She needs one of your Fuk Shoe-Yay’s,” or, as my mother would say, “I need to sell a house, so do your fun thingy.”

Whatever it is I’m grateful that my parents have finally been Feng Shui’d. Yes, one can verb Feng Shui! I do it all the time: Cars, boats, houses, offices and even people can be Feng Shui’d. I was once asked by a high power attorney if I could Feng Shui his bald spot to which I answered that there probably wasn’t enough chi flowing through his head to support an outer arrangement of hair.
Although most of the time my motto is, “Sure, I can Feng Shui That!” There are a few things I can’t Feng Shui –bald spots obviously being one of them!

What I love about what I do is that I get to bring sparkle, balance and abundance into people’s homes. Watching my clients move into larger homes, increasing in their prosperity and health, attracting partners and the perfect job opportunities are just a bi-product of the inner shifts and transformations that take place. The magic in it for me is in assisting a client in exploring how he or she may be perpetuating an irrational belief in their life. Then putting on my Feng Shui goggles to find where that belief is getting anchored in their environment and then releasing it. I believe the process of changing one's life always starts on the inner. The world can’t offer us greatness. We must first find it within ourselves and be courageous enough to stand in it and share it with others!

Life for me is about finding the funny, the fabulous and the Feng Shui in everything, so as you get to know me better you will see that those three ingredients are really present in everything I do.
