My journey towards living life with HOPE | VISION | PASSION began some time ago. In fact, when reflecting back over the past 15 to 20 years of my life, it is very clear that the challenges I have been presented with were actually opportunities for me to grow as a person. In reality, I would never have chosen my journey through life to have taken me some of the places I have gone. However, it is because of these challenges I learned the importance of choosing to be happy. I recognize and accept that none of us have a choice in what or when difficult times occur in life, but we do have a choice in how we handle them.
For over 11 years, I played a vital role in the development and growth of my family's third-generation family owned and operated business. With over 350 associates and total company sales volume exceeding 80 million, I was on my way to becoming the President and CEO of one of Arizona's largest privately owned businesses. What the outside world did not know about me was my daily battle with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and the havoc it played on my life "behind the scenes." A disorder so severe it often left me pondering how I was going to survive another single minute. Battling OCD since I was a pre-teen, there were many times I couldn't function – I couldn't get myself dressed, I couldn't even leave the house. As time went on, going to work became almost impossible and socializing with friends was kept to a bare minimum. This was quite difficult seeing that I was a very visible figure in the community. Bottom line…I worked really hard at appearing as though things were great to be sure nobody knew what I was going through. Then, even when my OCD was somewhat under control I still faced other challenges in life. Both my parents endured difficult battles with cancer and my high-school sweetheart, who I ultimately married, was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.
So what did all of this teach me? Well…if I was capable of hiding my own vulnerabilities from the outside world, so was everyone else. It also taught me to never to judge a book by its cover. It opened my eyes to the fact that many people are struggling with life but you simply cannot tell since they will stop at nothing to keep the public from knowing. These struggles can be related to finances, health (mental & physical), faith, relationships, employment, parenting, gender, race and many others. More and more I began to question the life I was leading. I could continue, keeping my secrets, advancing in business, living a life of circumstance. But was this it? Was this all my life would be about? No. I wanted more. I wanted to live life with more meaning, more purpose and positively impact the lives of as many other people as possible.
Today, my mission in life is to teach you how to live with HOPE | VISION | PASSION. To encourage you to discover your own purpose in life and provide you with key tools that will allow you to enjoy the benefits of self empowerment. I am blessed to be able to work with ALL types of people (CEO's, Doctors, Athletes, Parents, College Students, Struggling Teens, etc.) on achieving personal fulfillment in life. I travel the world sharing stories about my battle with OCD and other life speed bumps, emphasizing the importance of CHOOSING to have faith and be happy regardless of our difficulties in life. I also encourage others to search for their true purpose in life. Find "IT" and you will find passion that fuels your soul.
I look forward to interacting with everyone in our PeopleJam community! So go ahead and drop me a note, share a story or ask me a questions or two…you’ll be glad you did. Keep the faith! WWW.BOBHOBBSJR.COM
