About Me

I'm from Portland, OR, by way of Atlanta, GA. I've lived in LA (on the westside) for about 11 years. I moved here to become an actor after acquiring a degree in Psychology in Atlanta. Next to a Theater degree, I figured it was the best thing - and I got the acting itch too late in my collegiate career. Although acting was the impetus for moving out to LA, writing soon became an even stronger love. I believe that LA is the type of city that allows you to discover yourself over and over. It's magical that way and it caused me to realize a few things about myself.

I am a creative spirit. It took me 39 years to fully embrace this, but better late than never, right? Music and writing are my true passions with acting taking a close second. I currently act and write for the music category in a lifestyle magazine... OK, I'll admit it - I'm an art junkie. I love it all, from photography to movies, to plays, to paintings, to sculpture, to food. I also love sports - tennis, martial arts, soccer, basketball, etc. The physical feats of the human body never cease to amaze me. It will be interesting to see what records are being set 50 years from now.

Personal evolution is important to me as well. Meditation is a daily part of my life. There is much to be explored and gained in learning about the metaphysical world that exists within ourselves. The beach is a sacred place for me - especially at night while it's raining. The sound and mist of the ocean has wonderful cleansing and rejuvenating properties. After a visit there, I feel completely renewed. I think it is tremendously important for us to learn how our personal "battery" works. We should all individually know what it takes for us to re-energize and re-focus ourselves after running at hyper speed through a lightning-paced society. The trial and error of finding out what works for us can sometimes be fun. There are many things that can help us re-energize, but I think nothing is more effective than good friends and family.

I believe that honest friendship, and a supportive family are paramount to a successful existence. Some people would say that this is the true meaning of success. The titles and material possessions that we've become accustomed to reaching for may indeed be overrrated. One thing that I know for sure is this: there is no substitute for being surrounded with love and compassion... and these things begin with The Self.
