This book was sparked by the discussions attorney Joe Jaworski had with his father, special Watergate prosecutor Leon Jaworski, about the lack of moral and ethical standards at high levels. The author maintains that true leadership creates a domain in which people become ever more capable and "predictable miracles" can happen.
Really excellent book by one of the lawyers involved with the Watergate scandal. Its about learning from mistakes, and how leadership comes from within and integrity. If you aren't who you are supposed to be, your employees see that and they aren't who they are supposed to be. I have several dozen employees and they are all dedicated to their job because I am on "their team". If they need a raise, I don't blink, I give it to them. Because I know that the cost of having that employee feel under paid is more expensive than their raise. I'm really impressed with this book because it touches on non profit leadership as well. This can be just as difficult if not more so because the "employees" already feel like they are giving of themselves by even having the job. Great book, a must for business owners!
