"Enchanted Love" by Marianne Williamson is one of my favorite books of all time. Her insight about the sacred relationship between a man and woman is amazingly introspective. This is a ground-breaking material that I am not sure any other book has covered, to my knowledge. Her information is at times mystical and esoteric, but she usually brings it back to a central point of universal understanding.
The book starts off with a lot of mythology and mumbo jumbo about the Egyptian goddess Isis and spaceships and mermaids. Don't let that dissuade you (although I know exactly how it sounds!). I soldiered through and scanned until I saw something valid, which is around page 30. That's when she starts to get into real relationships. Williamson shares her own personal stories of rejection, and the lessons learned. But, if for no other reason, read this book because it happens to have the most accurate definition of love I've ever read. She writes, "When someone truly makes the journey with you, when they try to understand your dreams... when someone forgives you regularly while indulging you rarely, your molecules transform. And therein lies the mystery of love." I can't sum it up any better than that.
Thanks for the warning. I hate it when books start slow, but at least you relate that it gets better. Love is transforming!
