I'm always a little skeptical when it comes to books written or endorsed by celebrities. I mean, honestly, I work at a book store and whenever I have to put out 100 copies of the latest celebrity tell-all bestseller, I scoff, because it's what we do. But I decided to give this one the benefit of the doubt, because it's a cookbook meant to make "healthy foods" taste good. I'm a sucker for this kind of stuff. Tasty diet food? Impossible!
After being tempted by mainly the side-dish and dessert recipes, I decided to buy the book and give it a try. I found that the recipes were very user-friendly in that they didn’t add, essentially, a novel’s length to my grocery shopping list, which I appreciated. All the recipes I’ve tried are tasty, but I can’t really imagine trying to “trick” a kid with the same foods, not by today’s standards of fast food. All in all, I think it’s a good cookbook to add to my health-conscious collection.
