I love this book. I have tons of cookbooks, but I fall back on this one the most frequently of all. Just because something is healthy doesn't mean it can't taste good, and "The Food You Crave" gives simple, basic recipes for good, healthy meals. It gives suggestions for adding flavor without completely denying yourself of the foods you like to eat. The recipes call for a lot of fresh ingredients, which I have never shied away from. Lots of leafy grees, fresh herbs and spices, seafood, and focuses on portion sizes. The only issue I had is that some of the ingredients can be hard to find, and a lot of the fresh ingredients are very seasonal and can be difficult to substitute. Otherwise, I love this book and it's beautiful simplicity.
I'm glad to know that the recipes are simple-- I'm always afraid that cooking healthy means having to order exotic foods or shop at health food stores. But I am definitely going to read this book now! Thanks!
