Ellie Krieger is a registered dietitian for the SAD (Standard American Diet). Her recipes are good (I’m told) if you can eat sugar, wheat, gluten, etc. If you have a restricted diet, you’ll have to modify every recipe. It seems like she skimps in the wrong places to make the recipe more palatable. Some of the ingredients seem kind of expensive and hard to find for the end result. If you are cooking for more than one to two, you may want to double the recipe. I watched her Thanksgiving special on Foodnetwork last year. The portions and I’m not sure how many people it was supposed to feed but it wouldn’t be enough for a large family. A lot of places she could use honey instead of sugar or make slight modifications in other areas to make them more open to everyone. I just don’t like her recipes going from the ingredient list. The other thing that annoys me a little bit is she has a separate website from FoodNetworkTV that you have to join and pay for to use any of her ‘tools’ to maintain a healthy balanced diet. So if you don’t have cash, you can’t use her complete meal plan anyway.
