Titles that say 'Beginners' tend to make me wince. This was great, however. It looks at the relationship between the heart and the mind, and the importance of curiosity and identification. It encourages consciousness.

Another major focus is on mindfulness, whether it concerns meditation, fitness, health and eating, thoughts, emotions, or mindfulness of our surroundings. A lot of this is based on concentration and unwavering focus.

This book is deep, easy to understand and follow, and altogether enjoyable. It provides great foundations, covering all the basics you'll need to continue to focus on mindfulness. Of all the options you have available to you regarding mindfulness, this is toward the top.

LOL, I had to laugh when you said you wince at the word "beginners" in the title. I know exactly how you feel. It's not exactly like we are beginners in being mindful. Our minds aren't exactly empty and we want to begin to use them, right?! I'm glad I read your review because now I know I might find the book useful to me and I can get past that title!

I also miss a beat at the "beginner" title. I always worry about beginner materials being superficial, so I was pleased to see your comment about this book being deep and yet easy to understand and apply.
