My mother is a master manipulator. After years of guilt trips and feeling like I could never do enough for her or be good enough for her, I decided I needed to take control of the situation and learn her "language." At the library, I found this book. It has completely changed the way I deal with and understand my mother. It showed me the different styles of manipulation and how to handle it when those styles are used on you. Now, when my mother tries to guilt trip me, I call her on it. Our relationship it completely different, as I now take control of situations rather than allow myself to be bullied. It has also helped me in relationships at work and with friends. If you have manipulators in your life, you must read this book!

I am thankful that you included in your review that you have used the information you learned, and are able to see a change in a relationship. I sometimes wonder if people apply what they learned and see growth. Congratulations - and thanks for sharing.
