In his first bestseller, Financial Peace, Dave Ramsey taught us how to eliminate debt from our lives. Using these essential steps anyone can create prosperity, live debt-free, and achieve marital bliss around the issue of finances. Filled with stories of couples, single men and women, children, and single parents, More Than Enough will show you:
• How to create a budget that fits your income and creates wealth
• What finances and romance have to do with one another
• What role values play in your financial life
• How to retire wealthy in every way
• And much, much more
Both my parents were bankers, and so, as long as I was with them, all my finances were taken care of. So I never stepped into a bank till I was 22. Now I have a job, and I'm on my own, and it was so horrible. I felt too embarrased to ask anyone, and I didn't want to go back to my parents either. I read this book, and the author's approach to it all was so practical. I learnt a lot, not just about saving money, but about giving it back as well. It helped me manage my finances better, I learnt to invest, save, I even fixed a budget for myself. For my standards, that's a HUGE thing. I owe the author so much!!
I love Dave's no nonsense, common sense approach to mangaing and maintaining money. He comes at your from a very real "I've been there, I've done that" viewpoint which I can respect.
While at first, some of his ideas made me say, "He wants me to do what??? How can I live without credit cards? How does he really think I can pay cash for that?"
To his credit, his ideas, even though they can be met with a sense of disbelief for the reader, keep you reading because of his sensible and down to earth style. He doesn't just focus on debt, and I love this about him. Debt is a symptom, healthy finances are a solution is more his mantra.
Everything from college savings to retirement is handled brilliantly in this book in a "you can do it" fashion. For people who are truly serious about changing their financial destiny, you will find this book valuable, and you will probably even become a regular listener to his radio show.
If you implement these principals in your everyday life, you will find that your finances are much less of a burden, no matter what your income.
This book Follows Dave Ramsey's original "Financial Peace" book. In this book Dave outlines his financial principals(which are excellent) but also teaches us to be happy with what we have in our lives by sharing his personal rags to riches story. It is heart warming, at times funny and will teach the reader a great lesson! This book has a teaches us about contentment, generosity, patience and dedication. This is a great financial book but it is also a huge motivational book on an emotional level.
