The winner of the 1998 American Psychological Association President's Award for contributions to the field, Joy Browne is one of the most-listened-to talk-show hosts on the air, providing advice for thousands of men and women every day for more than 20 years. Now she once again firmly guides her fans, with her new book, The Nine Fantasies That Will Ruin Your Life (And the Eight Realities That Will Save You).
The way this book is written is quite nice. Instead of the all to common condescending tone of most self help books, author Joy Browne writes as if you are just as intelligent as she, and she's just imparting some useful information. Written in a no nonsense tone that at times can be funny, this book is a great read, and can even be read in starts and stops (because if you're like me you never have time to sit down and finish a whole book) and still make sense. Even if you don't harbor one of the particular nine fantasies of her book, the common sense approach to dealing with them makes it a worthwhile read.
