The first book to present innovation and entrepreneurship as purposeful and systematic discipline which explains and analyzes the challenges and opportunities of America's new entrepreneurial economy.
The first book I've ever read that tried to systematize innovation. Innovation, even the word is hard to get minds around because its not only thought, its thought plus genius meeting a particular need at a particular time.
Here's their example. Think about all the people who would have had interesting stories to tell before writing or language was created. It does no good for someone in the pyramid days to be good at electronics development. Your innovation and your genius must meet the right time and right application. This book points to how every level of your company can be innovators if they are skilled and think about their position in terms of the time and place their genius is needed.
