The bestselling author of Anatomy of The Spirit reveals the real reasons people become physically and spiritually ill, why they cling to lives of hurt, disappointment, and dependence, how they mistakenly use illness to give meaning to their lives, and most importantly, how to stop.
I have to admit that I really liked this book. It definitely makes a lot of sense explaining how your own thoughts and cognitive distortions can make you sick. She points out the various ways that your own attitude can either help or hurt you and that quite often you have the power to turn your life around.
However, she really subscribes to the idea that your own thoughts and behaviors are what make you sick and that it's your own fault that you're sick. Not only is this not (always) true, it puts a great a deal of pressure on the reader to change and heal themself.
A lot of the attitudes and archetypes that she describes make sense, but I think the overall message is flawed. I would recommend this book to those who do not have a serious disease or to those who are not hoping for miracles.
