In THE ONE MINUTE ENTREPRENEUR, Ken Blanchard (coauthor of the #1 bestselling business classic The One Minute Manager), Don Hutson, CEO of U.S. Learning, and Ethan Willis, CEO of Prosper Learning, tell the inspiring story of one man’s challenges in creating his own business. Through a powerful and engaging narrative, we confront many of the typical problems all entrepreneurs face in starting up their business, from finding new sources of revenue to securing the commitment of their people and the loyalty of their customers. More important, we learn the secrets to becoming a successful entrepreneur, including how to build a firm foundation, how to ensure a steady cash flow, and how to create legendary service. In addition, the book offers invaluable advice, delivered through One Minute Insights, from such entrepreneurs and thinkers as Sheldon Bowles, Peter Drucker, Michael Gerber, and Charlie “Tremendous” Jones.
In "The One Minute Entrepreneur" Ken Blanchard narrates a simple and catchy story of a couple who went through high and down times of setting up and running a successful business.
He emphasizes on the key pillars in a business of growing and valuing people, putting up a board, hiring, being frugal, ensuring the bottom line: cash flow etc. Beyond that he also touch bases on human psychology in terms of believing, truthfulness, honesty and hard work. It also empowers you to deal with tough times and how not to lose hope and whom you can bend upon in such scenarios.
It is nicely written with one liner take aways at the end of each chapter.
It is very suitable for people in early stage to go through the experience themselves along with the narrator.
For someone who has already gone through this phase, it might sound a little lame and I wouldn't suggest buying a copy. You might probably want to just skim through the take-aways before you decide. I bet you can correlate to your own story very easily.
