I had heard about these books but never really cared and thought they were probably just stupid and cheesy. But when I had a chance to read Chicken Soup for the Soul while in middle school, I really enjoyed it with all the inspirational stories. It touched me so much that later on I purchased it myself. I would read it whenever I felt down or just giving up and it would always help me to pick myself up and try to improve my situation or to have a happier outlook on life. It really doesn't matter whether you read it all at once or a little at a time, it always proves to be uplifting and helpful. Now not all the stories are happy but they help you to learn how to cope with the bad that life throws you sometimes. I myself have lent it to many friends when they came to me for help with their problems and they always thanked me deeply and many of them purchased the book for themselves. I would definitely recommend this book and others in the series for people that want to feel like there is some hope in life and need a little pick me up or just need help in coping with their problems.

Glad to read this review because initially I felt exactly the same way. I thought these books were for chumps, the type of people who cry at long distance phone commercials. They're really not. They're full of terrific stories that make you genuinely feel good. Thanks for sharing that here.
