This diet worked for me and this book helped motivate me to change my eating habits and lose 50 pounds. The day I bought the book, I immediately started reading it. Dr. Agastin finally finally helped me understand the relationship between carbohydrates, sugar, insulin, diabetes and the way my body metabolized food. After reading this book, a little light went off in my head and I was able to stick to the diet and lose the weight ... WITHOUT exercise.
I've gained a few pounds back here and there, but it is so easy for me to get back on the South Beach plan. The one thing I really miss is pasta, but I've learned how to make good substitutions and reward myself with some whole wheat penne every now and then. A great book for losing and keeping the weight off!
