I bought this book because it seemed to be the "it" book. Everywhere I went someone was reading it. So while I didn't know what to expect as I started the book, I soon found out what made it so popular.

The author finds herself in a life that she does not want to be leading. She feels trapped in her marriage and other parts of her life and simply needs to break free. This book is about her journey to three counties in an effort to find herself, and restart her life.

My favorite part of this book is her time in Italy. She spends a period of time there, which she labels the "eat" part of her book. She dedicates that period of her life to studying pleasure. What I like about this section is this: how often do we take time in our lives to pursue pleasure, through any means. Be it food, drink, or any other method, we are generally too busy to seek pleasure.

This was what I most took away from this book. I now take the time to seek pleasure in my life.

I would recommend this book to anyone with a busy, harried life, who is looking for a reason to slow down.
