You: On A Diet, was, to me, more than just a guide on how to lose weight. It talked about everything you needed to know, about food, about nutrition, and about calories. My mom is definitely a health-wise person, and I, slowly, became the same as I grew up. This book was like a health guide to me. I never even knew what high fructose corn syrup was, or partially hydrogenated oils, enriched flours, MSG. I use to read the labels for calories, fats, sugars. Now I was reading the labels for the above items. I didn’t realize how bad these substances were before reading this book. It motivated me in so many ways to really start looking at my body and my life, and take charge of it the healthy way. For anyone looking to not only lose weight, but learn how important the food you put in your mouth is to your health, I’d recommend this book, and anything Dr. Oz related in a heartbeat.
