Several sales people that I think very highly of and one ex-boss that I think very little of recommended this to me. In the end, I bought this because of the hype surrounding it. Now, having earned a degree in the natural sciences, I found it very irritating when this tried to justify itself through pseudo science and mysticism. It spouts off phrases like, “Law of Attraction” and insinuates that magical energy brain waves radiate from your mind. There is a scene in this movie where a boy wishes and wishes and wishes for a red bike, and then one day it just appears for him. I felt so insulted by the secret and by the proponents in it who were titled “Quantum physicists” and were spouting off about the powers of positive thinking as if it were an ancient, mystical and yet proven science. Gravity is science, wishing for a bike isn’t. If you’re looking for ancient words of wisdom, read something by Marcus Aurelius.
