This book was like the food Bible for me because I was searching for something similar to this, as I was eating way too much junk food, and too much out. I wanted a book that could satisy my hunger needs but nutritional needs as well. I think the best part of the book was the history of the different foods. Also, with this fast-paced world we live in, and because we never know exactly what we are eating whether it's out or at home, the category of "real food" has seemed to vanish. This book takes it back to the basics with "fresh" information on real food; this was a change of pace from the processed foods we are used to.

I am so tired of all the diet crazes in our nation and the world. All seem to be based on eating some sort of specialized, esoteric diet and doing some kind of expensive, strange exercise. This book sounds like just the kind of common sense approach that is needed.

Thanks for the review! My husband likes to eat natural stuff, and it's hard to find things that are not processed. Sounds like this book would be very helpful.

Sounds like a great book from what you have said. I am trying to lose weight and nothing seems to be working for me. I needed a book with some insight into "real food". I know what to ask my husband to put in my stocking this year.
