I can't say that I particularly enjoyed this Chicken Soup book. I love animals; I have dogs and cats and rats. So I fully expected to love this book.

But... there's just something missing and I can't quite put my finger on what. I think it may be the inspiration that's in the other Chicken Soup books. There were too many stories in this one that made me cry, both for the people and for the animals. It's hard to feel inspired when there are tears dripping down your face, you know?

I suppose I'd recommend this to pet lovers with a harder heart than I have, although I don't think there are many out there. Instead, pick up a different Chicken Soup book to read, like one of the originals.
