When my grandmother died, my mother gave me this book out of the collection of books left by my grandmother saying she thought I would enjoy it as much as grandma did. As an animal lover, she was right. I did not think much of the book until I started reading it. It made me laugh, cry, and feel anger. It shows the love that humans are capable of as well as the hate. It inspired me to keep on the track I am currently taking and to not look so cynically at the human world as I often do. There is good out there, we just do not always see or hear about it. This book, in a small way, changed part of my life. I would recommend it to every pet lover out there to read. The stories are great and they run the trail from every pet you can think of--although most are cats and dogs. Its a good read and its also set up in a series of short stories, so you do not have to read it all at once. I kept mine in the bathroom to read.
Glad you enjoyed the book. The stories in these books are meant to teach us a lesson I believe. Whether they jump right out at your or just make you think about something is another story.
