Eckhart Tolle is thought of by some to be a spiritual leader and writer. While his book does in many ways cover a sort of general spirituality he is in no way a leader. Most of the qualities he suggests people should strive to attain are a mix of eastern and mystical teachings. The greater teaching of the book is to no longer be driven by how you feel about events and begin to change your life by becoming emotionally proactive when it comes to the changing events in life. While Tolles book helped me better realize how I feel about the people and the effect they have on my life, my temper is still my largest detractor from happiness. Understanding myself better and looking at events with a less selfish approach to my feelings and attaching them to what I want is helping me be a better person anyhow.
