This book has been around since 1969, when it first came out and single-handedly generated a tremendous and highly controversial sensation. Widely praised by intelligent and open-minded people and harshly condemned by those outraged at its boldness and no-nonsense clarity, it is a book that is still being referred to by readers seeking advice and information on that most fascinating of all subjects, human sexuality. Written in a question and answer format, everything concerning sex, (and believe me when I say everything,) is thoroughly discussed and explained. Subjects such as abortion, venerial disease, impotence, prostitution, frigidity, the penis, the clitoris, fantasies, perversions, intercourse, are all scientifically and rationally discussed, leaving nothing to the imagination, all with the aim of educating the reader and dispelling the myths and erroneous beliefs about sex that have piled up like mud over the years because people wouldn't or couldn't get the facts straight. This book is one of the first fountains of light that created such a tremendous and long-lasting impact on sexual history, comparable in effect to the Masters & Johnson clinical investigations of human sexuality. As such, I highly recommend it as a first course in understanding why we are the sexual beings that we are, why we behave in such varied and colorful ways, and how best to understand others who might be a bit "different" in their own tastes and activities when it comes to that most powerful of all human drives, sex.
