I've known for a long time that I wanted to be vegan. But the practicalities of it made it difficult at times. Becoming Vegan has been a very helpful resource for me and my family.
Brenda Davis and Vesanto Melina are registered dietitians, which has made this book a great deal more "credible" in the eyes of my own family and friends. For those who believe vegans sacrifice their health for their ethics, this gives a thoughtful and reasoned argument why we can be very healthy and vegan, too.
After a few years as a vegetarian and now almost 2 years vegan, I was still having some challenges in dealing with a world that is predominately not vegan. This book helped me with that as well.
I'm now passing this on to my daughter, who I hope will benefit from the section on vegan breastfeeding moms.
