I got turned on to this book after watching and seeing T Boone Pickens everywhere on TV ads. I wanted to look into what it was all about. The title did it for me. Its a really inspiring story because this fellow who is now 80 years old did not give up on his dream of taking on big oil companies and trying to spread the truth about our dependence on foreign oil. I am a supporter of the Pickens Plan and this book really makes you fall in love with the man, and the plan. His "never give up, never surrender" ideology is refreshing and I really hope to employ that in my own life. I think our many people may never reach their personal best because they left the game in the 3rd inning. Great book, great message, great American.
