Those who watch the Food Network may already know Ellie Krieger. She hosts the program 'Healthy Appetites'- a common-sense variant on the usual tv cooking-show fare.
In her book, The Food You Crave, she takes that same common-sense attitude and applies it to the food we eat every day. This is no diet book, but it is, perhaps, a 'health' book, showing us all how to eat delicious food that we enjoy which, by virtue of its preparation, is also healthy. There are no faddish fat-replacers or low-calorie recipes here; she has no need for them. Instead, these meals are naturally healthy- made with real ingredients- fresh fruits and veg, etc, that leave your taste buds (and all your other senses) satisfied without the guilt.
I personally like the Fried Rice w/ Scallions & Tofu & Edamame- a great, simple meal that you can eat for dinner or pack away for lunch the next day. Her cheesecakes are also amazing, and the Green Goddess dressing is fantastic. So check it out, and find new favourites for yourself and your loved ones.
