Okay, I've just got to get this out of the way first:

Happy Cow is a fairly comprehensive website covering many areas of concern to vegetarians and vegans - there are bits of the site devoted to animal rights issues, recipes, health & supplement information, and of course the always-helpful 'community' boards. Pretty standard stuff. But where Happy Cow goes absolutely above and beyond the call of any vegetarian/vegan website is in its thorough, well researched database of veg restaurants worldwide. Seriously, these guys are lifesavers. Whenever I move, or even go on holiday, I first do a quick search in their map to see if there are any restaurants I know will be veg friendly- whether for the occasional meal while traveling, or to make a favourite 'old-steady' in a new neighborhood.

The reviews for the restaurants are marvelous- you get a description of the restaurant, how much they cost, what sort of dietary restrictions they cater to, as well as opinions on whether they're worth visition.

A great resource. Highly recommended.
