The Skinny Bitch in the Kitchen is unfortunately a one trick pony without the redeeming qualities of at least being a good cookbook.
While initially tickling my funny bone with their witty banter in the directions aside each recipe, I quickly grew tired of what seemed like inappropriate and presumptuous humor. For example, when making Pecan-crusted French Toast, the directions tell you to coat the bread in milk then stick the crushed pecans to the milk-soaked slices with the following unnecessary statement “Yeah, it's a little challenging to make 'em stick in there. Quit whining. You're about to have French Toast!”
Thanks for the not so tasty recipes and the less than appetizing attempts at humor Ms. Freedman and Ms. Barnouin, but I'll take a serious recipe book with good nutritional advice any day over this.
I conclude this review with a warning: Don't waste your time with this cookbook. You'd be better served by almost any other book on nutritious cooking for weight maintenance.
