I believe there are definitely chemical imbalances that can cause major depression. What I don't believe is that we choke on pills before we try to fix the problem with common sense and thats what this book does. Makes you look at "Why am I depressed"? Thats almost an unanswerable question, so it breaks it down into emotions. "Do you feel anger when ___ happens?" Why is that? Why do you feel that way? What happened to you in the past that makes you feel that way? How can you forgive, forget, move on? All those questions are answered in this book. I love it so because I am not a big medicine taker, never want to be, and I think it doesn't address the real problem anyway. With some time, and this book, you can if your depression isn't too severe.
I'm the same way; I hate taking pills like they're candy. They're not the ultimate solution. I've been looking for more books on the subject. Great review!
