Why the Flex Plan?
There’s no need to give up your favorite foods while losing weight. On the Flex Plan, our updated version of the popular POINTS® Food System, you can eat any food you want. Just stay within your personalized daily POINTS® Target and you’ll be making healthier, better food choices in no time.
How the POINTS system works
Every food has a POINTS value, which is calculated based on a food’s calories, fat and fiber. POINTS values help you keep track of what you eat, so that you stay within a daily POINTS Target that’s personalized for you, based on your height, weight and other factors, such as gender.
Along with your daily POINTS Target, you also get a “Weekly Allowance” to use for a special occasion like a night on the town--so you can still indulge sometimes, without going off track.
This is such a great program. The key is making the commitment to becoming healthy in all areas of your life. If you just get into it to lose weight and then go back to your "old" ways, you will not have long-term success. However, if you have had it with your "old" ways and want to make a break-through, this is a 100% healthy & balanced way to look at eating and food. You will have to figure out how to stop eating before you get too full and you will have to commit to eating at least 5 servings of fruit and veggies daily. But if you do, you will reap the rewards for a lifetime!
I love all the weight watchers books. I am a stickler for healthy food and different ways to prepare it. I love the weight watchers plans because it allows you some flexibility in what you eat. It says, "okay, you want ice cream today, have ice cream, but make good choices regarding your food for the rest of the day." I love the idea because it does not seem like a "diet", which makes somebody bound to fail. Rather, it is a lifestyle change which encourages healthier alternatives. After so long of making good food choices, something changes. It allows weight watchers to become a way of life.
