I love this book. This book is MUCH more in depth than their original Protein Power book. This book takes their basic Protein Power plan and gives you much much more information into the how and why of their nutritional plan with tons of scientific diet to back it up. Let me stress that this book is different than their original book Protein Power. This is the book to read if you want a more in depth to "why" you should be eating lower carb.

I found their in depth sections on sunshine, insulin and iron fascinating. Following the books advice I had my iron tested and they were right it was too high.

I challenge anyone to say their low carb eating plan is low on veggies. You really load up on them. The authors also stress healthy fats and protein.

I got this book when first exploring the low carb lifestyle. To me it was more "preachy" than informative. I also had a lot of trouble following their guidelines.
I think whether or not this book works for you depends on your personal style. Atkins works better for me because I do not have to count calories or carbs. I just eat certain kinds of foods and none, or vey limited quantities of others.
I think the attempt in this plan is to make eating more interesting and make you feel like you can still eat some of your old favorites but for me that just made it more difficult.
This book is not as well written as a lot of the other books on the topic. A good test for those who have tried Weight Watchers is if you liked the old system this will probably work for you. If you prefer the newer Points system it probably won’t.
