It is only recently, 4 years or so that I have been looking at living GREEN, so when I saw the book at the library I checked it out to see what it offered. The Green lifestyle, isn’t easy and I have reduced waste in areas but could always use more help in that department since I didn’t grow up in a green household. I really enjoyed Nancy Taylor’s Go Green book because it is perfect for those just beginning and learning about the Green lifestyle. It provide useful information, I didn’t know about such as the carbon foot print. I also enjoyed the information on water conservation and of course buying local organic and sustainable foods. I had already started growing my own organic veggies in containers and we recycle as much as possible. We’re not completely green, but we are a lot less wasteful then we were before. I still use glass jars, but I do reuse them for storing dry goods, crafts, and if they get broken I use them at the bottom of my container gardens to allow for air circulation.

Hi friends, books related to Environment protection attract me more than on any topics. I was born and brought up in a small village surrounded by forests, natural water resources and small hills. I remember those chilly days, with heavy rainfall, greeneries allover the place with all types’ of herbivores and some carnivores coming out of their hides etc. Every thing changed within a span of few years. In the name of development the natural paradise has been converted in to modern hell. I feel guilty of not stopping this brutal murder of Mother Nature in front of my eyes.

The book “Go Green” written by Nancy H Taylor explains about carbon footprint and offers some important solutions to minimize it. I think this type of books is the need of the hour to put an end to the on going color change of our Globe from green to red. This book tells us about sustainable development concept which should be propagated amongst greedy developers. Of course every books on the topic of environment protection is not complete without warning us about green house effect and global warming. I am very proud of Nancy for discharging her moral duty by writing this great book for the protection of environment and now it is our turn to reciprocate it by practicing the steps explained in the book. I hope every person with little concern for Mother Nature should buy this book and practice what Nancy wrote.

If other books show small steps everyone can take to help cut back on energy consumption in their daily lives, Go Green offers a more comprehensive look at how to model your entire life to be more environmentally conscious.

Nancy Taylor offers many suggestions for lowering your carbon footprint (and yes, she also explains exactly what that *is*) but her strongest point isn't in offering any one or two baby solutions, but rather in looking at components of our lives as parts of a greater whole. For example, a section on transportation dovetails nicely with ways to conserve water and buy local, sustainably grown food- integrating all of these different aspects of our lives creates a more fully developed strategy for combating global warming.

Fantastic guide for those who are ready for a change.

I grew up in a very non-green household...never recycled never reused. This book points to more that you can do such as pointing to the different things you can do with your trash to make useful things...even gifts! It also gives you guidelines for what could be a buying guide. It gets a bit confusing because on one hand they say not to buy glass unless there is a portion you can reuse, but then they say not to buy glass because it seriously takes 100,000 years to turn into soil...so that was a little confusing. I like the simple manual format that helps you live a daily greener life. I am still trying to get my parents on board with this book. It doesn't push a lot of politics on the reader as well, which is really helpful in trying to convert people!
