How to Watch the NBA Playoffs and Finals

The National Basketball Association Finals start in April when spring is in full bloom. First, the Western and Eastern Conferences duke it out to earn the right to play in the final series. Each conference takes the division winners (seeded 1-4 in the conference) and then the 5-8 seeds in order to find the conference champs. In the end the Western and Eastern Conference champions fight for the Larry O’Brien Championship Trophy.

There have been perennial leaders in the NBA, or dynasties. The Los Angeles Lakers, Chicago Bulls, and Boston Celtics have all dominated the title at one time.

Since there is more than one game and more than one series, there is plenty of excitement to check out! If you aren’t familiar with the teams and the stories, spend some time online with ESPN, NBA.com, or other sports sources to get up to speed.

Just like any other sporting event, there are those who want to watch and those who get upset about that. I firmly believe that the cliché “opposites attract” is a pile of baloney. Really, think about it – if someone you love is basketball-obsessed and you can’t stand it then you either need to move on or learn to live with it. On the same token, if you are in love with the both the NBA and someone who refuses to let you even watch the very last game of the finals, why are you making yourself miserable? (This simple concept works for pursuits other than sports also!)

Also like any other sporting event – there are plenty of party and game-watching activities that apply. Springtime is a great time to throw a party, so get out the food and drinks and invite your friends over to make watching even more fun!

How will you watch the finals this year?
