Eek, it’s time for spring cleaning again!  In our modern world, we really could keep our homes spring-clean all year long. But we don’t. Something about springtime gets us into the cleaning mood. Here are the xx easy steps to get your home spic-and-span!
Step One:  Start!
Easier said than done right? I like to start with a new pair of rubber gloves – they make them super cute now – and a fresh pack of sponges. Take a trip to the Supercenter and stock up on whatever makes you feel fresh.
Step Two:  Cut the Clutter!
You can’t clean where there’s clutter and you can’t organize clutter – you can only get rid of it.
Get rid of unnecessary items and trash. Tidy each room in the house, taking out everything that doesn’t belong there permanently.
Step Three: Clean One Room at a Time
This goes contrary to my general cleaning philosophy, which is to do one task at a time (ie. dust all blinds in the house, dust all furniture, clean all toilets, etc.).  During spring cleaning you want to work room by room.  Make a list of things you want to accomplish and gather all your supplies.
If all this sounds like a lot of work, limit your spring cleaning.  Decide what’s important.  Maybe you spend an hour on each room, or maybe you want every floor in the house to sparkle.  The biggest benefit of getting your house 100% clean all at once is that once it’s done, it is much more likely to stay that way!
