Probably! I personally can’t imagine having to sit still for long periods of time. Of course, I slack off just like anyone else every now and then. For the most part, I really make an effort to get exercise every day. In fact, I wish I could do more but there just aren’t enough hours in the day.
I know some individuals that are bona fide couch potatoes and it really bothers them. I’ve also noticed that they can make a commitment to overcome the lack of activity and get something going.
It really isn’t all that difficult; you just have to want it. It really is that simple. Yes, some people have physical limitations and difficulties that make it difficult but it still can be done. I knew a remarkable woman that was morbidly obese with several chronic health conditions (lupus, arthritis, high blood pressure, and more). She really did make an effort and lost over 100 pounds without any fancy diets or pills. You know what her secret was? She got up and moved. She only ate when she was hungry. She stopped eating when she was full. That simple! Seriously!
Don’t turn to some quick fix or think it will be easy to stop being a lump. It takes a commitment and desire. Yeah, this all sounds so cliché. Oh, and you’re right, I’m no “expert” and I’m not a physician. I’m just a person that knows there is no reason to sit and become mildew in front of a computer or a television screen. What are you waiting for? Good luck!
What are some of your favorite ways to stop being sedentary?

Even in Los Angeles, much to the astonishment of the few people I know out here. Work requires that I sit in front of the computer most of the day. At the end of the day, I'm mentally exhausted and go home and sit some more on the sofa. I enjoy walking to work and doing errands on foot. It feels good to simply move and helps clear my head. Plus, I never get stuck in traffic and parking isn't an issue.
I think it's great - you are also eco friendly! I had that situation in grad school, walking everywhere, it was awesome!
